As a child of immigrant parents, Yousra appreciates how using plain language in patient education materials ensures that complex concepts are understandable to diverse communities. This perspective and passion drove her to HLM, where she works to bridge the gap between complex healthcare concepts and everyday understanding, and tells stories with data and visuals.
As a Statistical Data Analyst at HLM, Yousra combines her analytical mindset and attention to detail to breathe life into data. With her academic background and diverse research experiences, she is skilled in statistical analysis and data visualization, and promotes health literacy to ensure health information is universally understood.
Before joining HLM, Yousra pursued her education and gained research experience, setting the stage for her role here. Throughout her academic journey, she was actively engaged in diverse research endeavors on topics, including women’s health, maternal mental health, community health, behavioral economics, and geospatial analysis. These experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive skill set encompassing statistical analysis, data management, data visualizations, and programming languages such as R and SAS. Yousra’s experiences have uniquely enabled her to efficiently navigate and extract insights from complex datasets, uncovering valuable information that informs evidence-based decision-making.
Yousra has a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Biostatistics and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Geography in Global Health, both from the University of Florida.
