This initiative offers a suite of thoughtfully designed print and digital education materials that center the needs, voices, and experiences of African American communities. The materials aim to make information about health and health research accessible, trustworthy, and easy to understand — especially for audiences who have been historically been excluded or underserved in clinical research spaces.

Beyond simply educating, the materials also celebrate and spotlight the work of Black researchers — scientists, clinicians, and community leaders — who are actively improving health outcomes within their own communities through culturally grounded research and innovation. By combining plain-langage content, with culturally relavant design, this project helps bridge the gap between communities and the research meant to save them.

Whether shared in community centers, health clinics, churches, or online, these resources empower individuals to make informed decisions, ask meaningful questions, and see themeselves — both as participants and as leaders — in the future of health research.
