Meghan Watkins

Health Literacy & Science Program Manager

Meghan Watkins

MPH, CHES

As a Health Literacy & Science Program Manager, Meghan works with our partners to create health literate materials and programs across disciplines including in our Clearly Communicating Clinical Trials (C3T) program.

Meghan believes that health literate materials hold the key to empowering people to take an active role in their health and lead to better health outcomes. Her passion for patient advocacy and public health equity drive her work across HLM programs.

Before joining HLM, Meghan completed a health communication fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in the Surveillance Research Program. During her time there, she worked to present cancer data to the general public in a variety of formats. Before this, she worked in non-profit development and as a respite caregiver, both of which helped her find her passion for advocacy and learn how she can use her voice to improve the lives of others.

Meghan holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in health behavior and health education with a specialization in health communication, from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor's degree is health science from University of Missouri - Columbia. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
